eet our great friend Chef Giancarlo Polito. He is a legend in his own lunchtime. We really do love him. He's larger than life and is definitely a 'celeb'.

I think that he is right. Whenever, I accompany guests, Gianci, as we like to call him, is larger than life, entertaining and convivial.

Montone's centuries' old fortified ramparts, splendid churches and monasteries, harken back to its medieval past. Along the geranium-adorned shadowy lanes, (where cars are not allowed) you can hear the twitter of the swallows' and the whoosh of their wings ad they fly by your bedroom window.
Montone's vantage point there are truly breathtaking vistas.

The bedrooms are personally furnished by the owners with antique family furniture as well as fine reproduction pieces made by local craftsmen. There is no pretence. The rooms are of average size, comfortable and quiet.
As days get longer and nicer, breakfast and dinner are served on the verandas, each with unique views of the old village.
