Inspired ITALY’s focus remains firmly fixed on our guests experience...

Posted in the eBike Tours collection on 15th March 2020

nspired ITALY's focus remains firmly fixed on our guest's experience during these unprecedented times" said Tim Hudson, Managing Director and founder of Inspired ITALY.

As Alex Cruz, CEO of British Airways said, "it is a crisis of global proportions the likes of which we have never known".

Such times require proportional responses.

We are delighted that your appetite and enthusiasm for Inspired ITALY experiences remains ever high with over 75% of all ski safari places filled for 2021 (11 June 2020) and a steady trickle of bookings for our eBike trips.

Notwithstanding, the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic has created uncertainty and will change the way that we will travel for the foreseeable future. As keen travellers ourselves, we fully understand how you, our guests, feel about this and it is against this backdrop that we have attempted to lay out the position regarding bookings and financials.

We have always taken a pragmatic approach to all guest requests. As a guest, should you need to change your booking due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will review each and every request in detail.

Inspired ITALY Ltd. is UK bonded tour operator and is bound by the UK Package Travel Regulations. Whatever our legal obligations, Inspired ITALY places you, our guest, at the very centre of every decision and we place our reputation above financial matters.

We have attempted to outline our views for your reference below. However, there are so many variables it is nearly impossible to address all potential situations and therefore, as we state, each case will be reviewed individually.

We believe these temporary terms and conditions are amongst the most flexible in the UK travel industry, and we hope they will give you the confidence, when you feel ready, to go ahead and book your next adventure with Inspired ITALY.

COVID Book with Confidence … What We Have Changed

Effective 1st July 2020, we have reduced the required deposit to 20% (normally 30%) and the final balance for your trip is due 30 days prior to the departure date (normally 56 days) and only when your trip is still scheduled.

If We are Unable to Run Your Trip

In the event that we are unable to run your trip because any of the authorities listed below impose restrictions specifically due to the Covid-19 pandemic such that we cannot run your scheduled trip, you have the option to receive a full refund or a full credit against a future departure date and at no extra cost.

The authorities are …

  • Italian government
  • Dolomiti Superski (for Dolomite ski safari bookings)
  • The regional governments of SudTyrol/Trentino, Tuscany or Umbria.

If You Are Unable to Travel

UK Residents - as a UK tour operator we are bound by UK law. In the event that the British Government Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) declare an Exceptional Travel Advisory Notice due to COVID-19 where the FCO advise ‘British nationals against all but essential international travel’, you have the option to receive a full refund or a full credit against a future departure date and at no extra cost.

Non-UK Residents - where your government prevents you from travel to Italy you have the option to receive a refund to the value of 70% of your payment received or receive full credit against a future departure date and at no extra cost.

Flights - in the event that your flight(s) is changed, cancelled or you unable to book viable flights, you have the option to receive a refund to the value of 70% of your payment received by Inspired ITALY or a full credit against a future Inspired ITALY departure and at no extra cost. In such circumstances, you may need to produce evidence of your original flight booking, details of the cancellation /amendment and/or details of available flights.

Generally, Inspired ITALY offers flexible free transfers/rebooking while Covid-19 continues to be an issue. However, there may be circumstances where a rebooking fee of £150 may apply.

Social distancing is not considered a ‘significant restriction’.

At 16 June Umbria and Trentino reported no new COVID 19 cases and Tuscany reported 3. Social distancing measures are proving to be effective in Italy. You can check the updated situation by region here …

OUR NEW eBIKE FLEET: Our new electric Bike fleet has arrived. Although we have ordered a smaller fleet than planned because of the reduced demand, you can choose from the following eBikes …

A fleet of 28 eBikes.

We continue to proactively communicate with our partner hotels, restauranters and others to understand the effect that the crisis is having on their businesses, their attitude and approach.

Moreover, we want to understand how they will take things forward.

Inspired ITALY is a small, specialised and flexible tour operator.

We have immediately cut our fixed costs to protect and maintain our business position. The directors and shareholders of Inspired ITALY are totally confident in the future of our business.

"We are very fortunate," says Tim Hudson. "We established Inspired ITALY as a 'life-style-business', where our focus was on a minimum fixed cost, the greatest flexibility and a built-in ability to react quickly. As a result, we are in a strong position and we can get through this with great confidence."

We plan to use our time to look forward, to imagine more experiences and to invest in the core of our business - your experience.

Above all, we are here, on the ground in Italy on the Umbria Tuscany borders. From our location, we will remain transparent, clear in our communications and accessible to all while we continue to consider all possibilities in as timely a manner as we possibly can.

We will keep you updated with notes via email and WhatsApp (+44 7532 464678) and short videos about life here in Italy as the crisis cycles through its various stages and back to some semblance of normality.
